SB Elite Prospect Program Details

Strictly Baseball Elite Prospect Program Main Focus
Prepare for The College Showcase

All College showcase and standard workouts are very similar. They usually breakdown as follows:

60 Yard Dash
180 foot sprint with baseball start
Reason: To see what type of game speed a player can compete at.
Target: Position Players 7.00 seconds and under

Outfield Throws
All outfielders take ball in deep right field and deliver a throw to third base.
Reason: Determine arm strength, carry, and fielding actions
Target: Velocity 80+ mph and carry in the 200 foot range

Infielders Throws and ground balls
All infielder will take balls at deep short stop.
Reason: Determine arm strength, carry, and fielding/arm actions
Target: Velocity 80+ mph and soft hands with arm carry

Batting Practice
All player will take short rounds of batting practice
Reason: Determine bat path, bat speed, and hitting actions
Target: Bat Speed velocity 90 mph, and ball carry

ELITE PROSPECT PROGRAM develops student athletes for college. This program goes far beyond traditional baseball instruction. It’s the one stop shop for any player trying to achieve a collegiate baseball scholarship.

Player Selection: Players are selected for this program. Admitted players have either been seen or have tried out. Selection is based on many different criteria which include evaluation of overall athletic ability and also classroom abilities.

Weekly Baseball Development Training:
-4-day schedule minimum
-2 hours per day minimum
-3 days per week athletic development minimum

Skills Development

Position Players Focus:
Daily Offensive Work:

-High intense drills and methods
-Develop consistent bat path
-Increase bat speed
-Focus is Power Development
-Swings average 200 to 250 per day
-Increase Body Control
Daily Defensive Work:
-Primary defensive position
-Extensive footwork and body position drills.
-Ball Transfer and throwing mechanics
-Increase body control

Pitcher Only Focus:
-Increase arm speed
-Increase Velocity
-Increase Body Control
-Pitch Development
-Wind-up, Stretch, Slide Step, Holding Runners, and Pitch Selection

-Decrease 60 yard dash and home to first times.
-Increase overall strength.

Pitcher Only:
-Increase Leg Power and Strength
-Increase balance

-Increase arm stamina and strength

Recruiting and Placement
Student Athletes take advantage of Strictly Baseball’s extensive knowledge of the recruiting process.

Tryouts
Strictly Baseball holds two free tryouts a year, for interested athletes to show their stuff.

In addition to player development, participants benefit from Strictly Baseball’s network of college coaches. We have sent student-athletes to the following schools for individual workouts:

In the last three years, Strictly Baseball has moved 27 student athletes on to college, two of which were selected in the 2007 Major League Baseball Draft.
